Finding Joy beyond our difficult circumstance. Sometimes we need to look past our present circumstances in order to find joy. I will be the first to admit that this is not easy!

When I am struggling and I don’t have the answers, I ask myself the over-used phrase…”What would Jesus do?”

Hebrews 12:2 reminds us that had Jesus focused on the pain and misery of the present moment, He may have chosen a different path. However, because He could look beyond the pain of the cross, and see the benefits and blessings that would come from it, He was able to find true joy despite the difficult times.

What are you facing today that could be robbing you of joy? A sick child, a lost job, rejection, loneliness, a cancer diagnosis… whatever you are enduring there will be joy again.

We can not always see how any good can come out of a bad situation, but it does and it will. God promises us that He will wipe every tear from our eyes and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain. He promises that He is making everything new for us (Rev. 21:4-5)

Today, find something good- anything at all. Maybe its the friend you didn’t know you had or the beauty of the morning sky… there is good, somewhere around you. Fill your mind with that goodness and feel God move in your life. Finding the good doesn’t take away the challenge you face, but it does help you to find joy!

Once we are able to do this (and you will), we can teach it to our kids and the generations to follow.

Together we will build… Kingdom Kids!

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2
