When you look up the phrase ‘warm fuzzy,’ I think this is the picture that should pop up! It’s chilly here in Iowa so I turned on the fireplace and draped this pretty blanket over my legs to be cozy while I sit with the LORD. It didn’t take long for Cora to find me. She knows what is good.
Soft lap. Warm blanket. All the petting she can stand. No dog to interrupt her rest. I was totally captivated by her beauty when the LORD weighed in on what He was seeing…
“I want my children to come to Me and rest just like Cora is resting. She completely trusts you. She sought you out. She got comfortable. She has no cares. This is what I want for my girls. No striving. No spinning in circles. Just trusting me completely for their lives.”
Friends, I know life can feel like a runaway train and you’re responsible for keeping it clean and making sure everyone is living up to their potential. Your people have no clue the hoops you jump through to make life work for them. Finding the time to sit with our Father is challenging – especially when it means getting up early🙋🏻♀️ But the moments you carve out to spend in His presence just listening to His words for you are exactly what you need for refreshing.
I promise you this one thing, your days with little children will be over sooner than you think. Then you will have more time. But wouldn’t it be better, dear sister, if you stole a few moments to hear God speak truth to your soul now? While you’re in the rushing?
He is waiting. He can still your storm. He won’t be a waste of your time.
