Do you choose a Word of the Year?

I’m always fascinated to learn about other people’s Word of the Year, but I have to say it usually feels difficult for me to land on just one word! Plus, I know I can be full of good intentions to focus on one theme for a year. Who knows what this afternoon will bring, let alone the whole year, right?! But I am just going with it. And if by April, I sense a new theme coming, then I will just change my word 😉

Praise is going to be my word for 2020. We are having a boy in March and his name is Judah. Genesis 29:35 says, “And she conceived again and bore a son, and said, “This time I will praise the Lord.” Therefore, she called his name Judah.” Of course, our year will focus a lot on newborn life. But I do want to grow in my willingness to praise God first. Praise and gratitude instead of worry and grumbling.

We made a graphic you could use if choosing a Word of the Year is your deal too. Feel free to grab the image from our Stories and then save as your phone’s lock screen or computer desktop background to keep it in front of you all year! And we’d love to know – what’s your word for 2020?!
