Do you ever feel like you are different, maybe set apart from those around you? Could be at work, you find the atmosphere difficult to deal with- gossiping and backstabbing going on all around you. Maybe amongst your friends, just not able to relate to any of the husband and children bashing that is happening.

As daughters of the King, we ARE different. We are meant to be set apart and unique. The disciples did not recognize Jesus after his resurrection, even though He was walking and interacting with them, because he looked different. He had been transfigured into a holier version of himself.
Sisters, if we were disfigured in an accident, we would look different. We would still be us but the accident would have changed us and how we look. In the same way, as women, filled with the Holy Spirit, we should look different from the world around us.

Jesus tells us that we are to be a light in the darkness. That we will be called to be set apart from those around us. To be different.

I have always loved the simple message that the childhood song, “This Little Light of Mine” has brought. It is saying to us to let our light shine before all persons, not to back down, but to be different.

How are you different? Is there an area of your life that needs to look different than those around you? As a woman who loves and lives for God, be encouraged that you are set apart to look and be different than those around you who do not know God. Be the Light in the Darkness and let it shine for all persons to see.

“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father”. (Matthew 5:14-16)
