POLITICS

POLITICS

A few years ago I was talking to a dad about the meltdowns his daughter was having in Target. Each outing would start off fine but eventually all of the choices, the amount of time spent in the store, and the disappointment of not being able to get all she wanted...

Pray Big Prayers

Pray Big Prayers

Have you ever been scared to pray? It seems silly to even think about. I know how good and kind God is but sometimes I am so scared to pray. I’m hesitant to pray because I’m afraid God will actually give me what I ask for. Again, I feel so silly for even writing that....

Standing On Your Miracles

Standing On Your Miracles

I’m reading The Circle Maker by Mark Batterson, because my parents are. I wanted to have something to talk about the next time we were over for supper so I picked up the book at our local thrift shop. Little did I know that this easy-reader would be packed with...

Do I Really Trust You?

Do I Really Trust You?

"May God grant us faith to completely trust His Word, even when every other sign points the other way." ~ C.H.P. I love to sit with a cup of coffee while the world is waking up...propped up in bed! There, I said it. My weekdays typically start at 5:30 in the morning...

Light In Our Darkness

Light In Our Darkness

Perfect Work

Perfect Work

"Sunshine streaming in and imagination at work.." I often find myself watching Jeffrey, my 2-year-old son, fascinated with how his imagination works wonders. Creating beautiful little pieces of artwork, telling grand stories with his animals, scooping up piles of...

Freedom from Fear

Freedom from Fear

God’s word tells us we don’t need to fear. It seems that everywhere we turn there are reasons to be fearful. The fear of getting the Coronavirus, the fear of getting cancer, or losing someone to cancer. The fear of being in an accident or losing someone to an accident. The fear of losing a job or not making enough to cover our expenses. The fear of an upcoming surgery or testing. The list could go on and on.

Empty Nest

Empty Nest

It was the summer before my youngest left for college. He had been in about every sport the school had. Five sports at all that year. We had spent 12 years or so following him and his older sister  in all their various activities. We enjoyed supporting them. Their friends would play in our backyard often. There were friends coming and going year-round. I loved the activity and enjoyed having their friends around.

That was all about to end.

Parasites and the Full Moon

Parasites and the Full Moon

Every day we consume pathogens through our food and drink, animal affection, and by touching our mouth and nose. The good news is- God designed our bodies to be able to naturally rid itself of any of these unwanted invaders.
